The report details how Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij was injured, Diego Godin had been sold and Milan Skriniar and Andrea Ranocchia were both relegated to the bench due to their positions on the transfer market, limiting coach Antonio Conte’s options.
21-year-old Italian Alessandro Bastoni started his first game as the central defender, with Aleksandar Kolarov making his Nerazzurri debut on the left side.
