Schalke 04 defender Ozan Kabak is Inter’s top target to replace Slovakian defender Milan Skriniar, should the 25-year-old be sold to Tottenham this transfer window, according to a report from Italian media outlet GianlucaDiMarzio.com earlier today.

The report details how the German club’s coach David Wagner was dismissed after an 18th consecutive match without a win, a situation that could benefit the Milanese club.

Should Skriniar be sold to Spurs, who have recently offered a loan deal with an obligation to buy attached worth around €40 million, then the Nerazzurri would set their sights on Kabak.

The 20-year-old Turkish defender, who is contracted to the Bundesliga side until 2024, made 28 appearances across all competitions last season for Schalke, for a total of 1938 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals and provided one assist.

Other options to strengthen the defense include Manchester United’s Chris Smalling, who has also been linked with a move to the Nerazzurri.
