Former Inter defender Nicolas Burdisso discussed the Nerazzurri’s thrilling 4-3 comeback win over Fiorentina on Saturday in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN yesterday.
“Inter have shown that they want to win the game and want to be the heroes. They recovered and won. Inter made the leap in the market.
“When Conte looks at the bench, he has great choices. The partnership of Lukaku and Lautaro is a key point for Inter, all of Conte’s principles of play involve them.”
The 39-year-old Argentinian also spoke about Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, who again disappointed yesterday against the Viola.
“Conte has to work on him and make him understand what space he has to occupy. In Italian football there is less space, he has to find it in order to play his game.”
The Nerazzurri got off to an early disadvantage against the Viola in Saturday’s season opener, before Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez netted a long-range curling effort just before half time.
An exciting second half followed, and smart substitutions from coach Antonio Conte saw the team run away 4-3 winners, with a late goal from Italian defender Danilo D’Ambrosio sealing the deal.
Inter’s next game is against newly promoted side Benevento on Wednesday, before facing fellow title contenders Lazio next weekend.
The Nerazzurri worked hard in the off season to strengthen the squad, with new arrivals like Achraf Hakimi and Arturo Vidal both impressing in their Inter debut against the Florence based club.
