Inter are taking some time to reflect when it comes to Andrea Ranocchia’s future with the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

Genoa have been courting Ranocchia for a few weeks and have even recieved the player’s ‘yes’ but Inter have been pondering whether to keep him or not to avoid being caught short in the event of injuries in the defence.

Inter do not want to find themselves in such a situation and for this reason Inter will take a further two to three days to reflect on the situation and then make a decision. The club will also hold talks with the player himself, who could surprisingly stay at Inter.

Inter’s pause for reflection comes at the time when Genoa were in the process of trying to agree terms with Inter over the 32-year-old.

Ranocchia joined Inter back in January 2011 and has since represented the club on 207 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored 13 goals and provided four assists.
