Andrea Ranocchia could well end up staying at Inter rather than leave the club according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.
Inter and Genoa have an agreement in principle over the transfer of the experienced Italian central defender but Inter have paused things in order to reflect on whether they actually want to let Ranocchia go as they do not wish to weaken their defence.
If Inter decide not to offload Ranocchia, he will continue to serve as the back-up to 2019/20 Serie A defender of the year Stefan de Vrij.
Lorenzo Pirola meanwhile seems destined to leave Inter, the report goes on. It initially seemed like the youngster would be staying with Inter whilst Ranocchia would be going but things have changed and the highly rated Italian youth national team representative will go out on loan, possibly in Serie B with Pescara.
