Matteo Darmian will not complete a move to Inter prior to the Nerazzurri’s match against Benevento tomorrow night according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio have decided to postpone Darmian’s arrival at the club until after the match due to not wanting to distract the team whatsoever before they take on last season’s Serie B champions.

On Thursday or Friday Darmian will travel to Milan and undergo his medical with Inter, sign his contract and then join his new teammates.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that Darmian will be a wildcard for Inter manager Antonio Conte given his great versatility with him able to play across the entirety of the backline.

This season Darmian has played two matches across all competitions but is yet to register any goal contributions.
