Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has shared his belief that there are only two, possibly three, teams capable of seriously talking about possibly winning the Serie A title come the end of the season.
Atalanta recorded a very respectable third placed finish in Serie A last season with them finishing five points short of champions Juventus, who picked up their ninth straight Scudetto.
The Bergamo club made a winning start to their campaign at the weekend with them winning 4-2 against Torino and Gasperini is clearly not wanting to get too carried away or give fans false hope.
“Today, only Juventus and Inter can speak about the Scudetto, maybe Napoli. We will try to do our best, but the important thing is that the concepts are clear,” he told the gathered media during his press conference ahead of today’s match against Lazio, yesterday afternoon.
Inter won their opening fixture 4-3 against Fiorentina this past weekend whilst Juventus have four points to their name after two games played.
Napoli meanwhile have maximum points after their two matches and are just one of three sides that have played twice that have a perfect record.
