Benevento president Oreste Vigorito believes that his side are facing a David and Goliath kind of match-up with Inter later on today.

The newly promoted Campania based club, who won last year’s Serie B title with ease, are to host Inter in their first home game since their return to the top flight at 18:00 local time today.

Benevento got their return to Serie A off to a flyer at the weekend by coming from 2-0 down to beat Sampdoria 3-2 whilst Inter come into the game off the back of edging a seven goal thriller against Fiorentina 4-3.

Despite the huge task at hand for the Stregoni, Vigorito is convinced that his players can go into the match in a calm manner given their exploits against Sampdoria.

“The players can face the match with a serene soul having already done a lot in Genoa. We will think a lot about the story of David and Goliath, perhaps without thinking too much, but hoping it will happen,” Vigorito explained in an interview with Otto Channel yesterday afternoon.

This evening’s meeting will be the fourth time that the two clubs meet in history and Inter will be looking to keep up their perfect record in the fixture.
