Inter face competition from Juventus if they wish to sign left-back Marcos Alonso from Chelsea, according to Sport Mediaset.

The Nerazzurri have fresh hope of securing a deal for the Spaniard before Monday’s transfer deadline, after Chelsea boss Frank Lampard excluded Alonso from his match-day squad against Tottenham last night.

Inter have monitored the 29-year-old for a long while while head coach Antonio Conte is known to be an admirer, having brought Alonso to London in 2016.

Juventus are also interested in a deal for him, though, setting up the prospect of another Derby d’Italia clash in the transfer market.

Inter have yet to open talks with Chelsea and it remains unclear for now how much money the Premier League side would demand.

Agreeing personal terms with the player would not be a problem, though, because chief executive Beppe Marotta has already been in contact with Alonso’s entourage in recent weeks.
