Inter coach Antonio Conte has sang the praises of Inter’s new recruit and Ivan Perisic, who is back at the club following a loan with Bayern Munich, following Inter’s 5-2 demolition of newly promoted Benevento on Wednesday evening.

Inter took the lead within the first 30 seconds of the match and went into the half time interval with a 4-1 lead. Lautaro Martinez scored Inter’s fifth goal in the second half but the Nerazzurri could have easily had more goals with them hitting the woodwork on several occasions.

“There are many new players, we have two experiences players in Kolarov and Vidal, a young player in Hakimi and even Perisic who has returned from a loan.

“They are all players who seem to have been playing with us for a long time,” he explained in his post-match press conference at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito.

The former Italian national team boss was then quizzed on the injury status of Vidal who had to come off the pitch due to an injury and was asked whether he is at risk of missing this weekend’s match away to Lazio.

“I don’t know yet but I talked to him. He told me he had taken a knock and when I could see him limping and trudging about I didn’t think twice about taking him off.

“Last year we suffered so much in midfield, thanks to having Barella on the bench, I didn’t run risks. We will see what the situation is from a medical point of view and we will see.”

In conclusion he was asked about Hakimi, who assisted and scored on his first start for his new employers following a €45 million move from Real Madrid.

“Hakimi is a footballer with great potential, he was born to be a right wing-back. He is important when attacking but must improve in defending but playing with three central defenders enhances his qualities.

“He was the important investment of this transfer market, he has to keep working but he gave a good interpretation of the match. We hope he continues like this “.
