Inter will try until the end of the transfer window to bring Marcos Alonso to the club from Chelsea according to a report from Italia broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist Luca Marchetti.
Inter are to try until the end due to the fact two of the current left wing-backs at the club in Ashley Young and Ivan Perisic are actually naturally wingers opposed to being wing-backs.
Inter manager Antonio Conte knows Alonso very well having managed him at Chelsea and the seemingly imminent departure of Radja Nainggolan to fellow Serie A side Cagliari will help Inter to fund a move for the Spaniard, whose relations with Chelsea boss Frank Lampard have soured as of late.
“It is quite an opportunity for a player Conte knows very well and in a position, left wing-back, where Inter have two attackers currently, Young and Perisic.
“This means that Inter will try until the end although it is not certain that they will succeed,” Marchetti explained live on air on Sky Sport Italia, a short time ago.
“With Nainggolan’s departure they have the economic space to conclude a deal of this kind.”
Alonso has been with Chelsea since 2016 and he has since went on to play 152 games for them, in which he has scored 22 goals and provided 18 assists for his teammates.
