Napoli’s route to sign Inter central midfielder Matias Vecino is a complicated one, according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Napoli are on the lookout for a new midfielder to reinforce their midfield department and Vecino is one of the players they have looked at but they have faced difficulties in signing him.

Due to the difficulties that they have faced in trying to sign the Uruguayan national team player, the report explains that Napoli are now pondering a move for Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Reports elsewhere in the media have stated that there is some distance between supply and demand in talks between Inter and Napoli over Vecino. Inter seemingly want around €18 million for the former Fiorentina player but Napoli reportedly only want to spend €10-12 million.

Vecino, who has been with Inter since 2017, has not played whatsoever due to being sidelined by injury and he is expected to be sidelined for a few more weeks yet.
