Benevento manager Filippo ‘Pippo’ Inzaghi has shared his belief that Inter are on the same level as reigning Serie A champions Juventus after their 5-2 defeat to the Nerazzuri team on Wednesday evening.
Inter opened the scoring at the Stadio Ciro Vigorito after just 28 seconds and were 3-0 up by the 30 minute mark. Benevento pulled one back but it was not long until Inter had their three goal cushion again and they went into the half time interval 4-1 up.
The second half was not as action packed as the first with Inter managing to score just one more and Benevento grabbing another of their own.
As a result of the win, Inter were able to maintain their perfect start to the 2020/21 Serie A season and have went joint top of the Serie A standings as a result.
“I think now they are at Juve’s level with the signings they have made,” Inzaghi, who led Benevento to the Serie B title last term, explained as part of his post-match press conference.
“If I think of the changes that Antonio made against Fiorentina and who was on the bench against us, I will say that Inter will fight in the Champions League and for the Scudetto until the end.”
