Inter youngster Sebastiano Esposito has stressed that he is out to prove his worth at SPAL upon joining the Serie B club on a season long loan.

“I am here to prove my worth by playing regularly. Pasquale Marino? Even though I only arrived recently, he fit me well into the group,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport, which appeared in today’s print edition.

“He makes us work calmly by always following his footballing ideas. SPAL are a high-level team, there will be pressure for everyone.”

He then spoke on the advice that Inter teammate Romelu Lukaku and Inter manager Antonio Conte gave him before he departed for SPAL.

“Both of them told me to go and prove what I’m worth but above all to have fun. The coach gave me advice on how to behave even off the pitch, while Romelu always encouraged me to give 100% during training.”

In conclusion the highly rated youngster spoke on what it means to him to be able to play alongside elder brother Salvatore at SPAL.

“It is a pride to play with my brother in a city like Ferrara and in a club as important as SPAL that we want to bring back to where it deserves to be. We have always dreamed of playing together, sometimes our paths are divided, but now we have the same goal.”

Esposito is a product of Inter’s youth academy and he is widely regarded as one of Inter’s best young prospects at this moment.

The 18-year-old, who is an Italian youth national team representative, had a mini first team breakthrough at Inter last season with him making 14 appearances across all competitions, in which he managed to score a single goal.
