Italian football journalist Paolo Condo has shared his belief that Inter have gotten level with Real Madrid by signing Achraf Hakimi from them during the course of the soon to be closing transfer window.

Inter signed Hakimi a few months ago in a reported €45 million, including add-ons, deal from Los Blancos and the highly rated Moroccan, who is widely tipped to become one of the next great wing-backs has signed a five year contract with Inter.

Hakimi has made a stellar start to life at Inter with him scoring one goal and providing his teammates with two assists in his first two appearances across all competitions for the club.

Condo believes that with thanks to signing Hakimi, Inter have gotten level with Real Madrid, who signed a young Roberto Carlos from Inter 25 years ago and then benefitted from Carlos becoming one of the greatest full backs of all time.

“With this deal, Inter are on the same level as Real Madrid 25 years after the sale of Roberto Carlos, who became the strongest full-back in the world for many years,” Condo explained whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia on Thursday afternoon.

“If I think that the Spaniards now have an honest full-back like Carvajal, I say that they made a mistake. I would say that now we are at 1-1 and the ball is back at the centre spot.”
