Italian journalist Luca Marchetti discussed Inter’s current work in the transfer market in an interview with Italian radio show Deejay Football Club earlier today.

“Inter have to close the distance with Cagliari for Nainggolan, it is necessary to find an economic solution since Cagliari values him at €5 million and wants to exchange him on equal terms with a youngster from their Primavera team while Inter want a higher fee.”

He suggested that a deal is likely to be completed regarding Radja Nainggolan, whilst Uruguayan midfielder Matias Vecino will remain with the Nerazzurri.

“In my opinion, the three parties want to close the deal. They have to agree on the formula. Vecino will stay, he will not play until December and Napoli can return for him in January.”

The 32-year-old Nainggolan, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022, impressed last season whilst on loan with the Sardinian club, quickly earning the captain’s armband.

The former Roma midfielder made 29 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2279 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided seven assists.

The 29-year-old Vecino, who is also contracted to the Milanese club until 2022, did not impress last season under coach Antonio Conte, and was close to leaving the club in the January transfer window until the deal collapsed.

He made 25 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 1698 minutes. In that time, he scored three goals and provided one assist.
