Italian defender Matteo Darmian will join the Inter squad on Monday after completing a move from Parma, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 30-year-old Italian full back underwent his medical exams with the Nerazzurri yesterday, before signing a four-year contract with the Milanese club. The player’s salary will be €2.5 million net per season.

Darmian will now return to Parma, ahead of the official announcement, and will join coach Antonio Conte’s squad on Monday.

The former Manchester United full back will be in the Emilian city today to retrieve his belongings and speak with the club’s management, where he will ask not to play in tomorrow’s league clash against Hellas Verona in order to avoid a possible injury.

Darmian made 34 appearances across all competitions last season for Parma, for a total of 2685 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal and provided one assist.
