Sassuolo have ignited interest in Inter youngster Lorenzo Pirola, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the Nerazzurri have been looking for a new home for the 18-year-old Italian defender, who will be sent away on loan in order to gain more regular playing time and experience.

Serie B side Monza are incredibly keen to sign the player, but now he has the possibility to stay in the Italian topflight.

Sassuolo are interested in signing the player, the report continues. The idea was born in a meeting yesterday between Inter and the Neroverdi, with the Nerazzurri suggesting it as a way to amortize the costs of the Stefano Sensi deal.

Contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2025, Pirola made his Inter first team debut last season in a 4-0 win over SPAL in July.

The player has impressed with the Primavera squad as well as the Italy youth teams.
