Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi has overtaken Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen in coach Antonio Conte’s hierarchies and starting squad, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the former Sassuolo midfielder is now preferred by the 51-year-old Italian coach over the former Spurs man, who joined the club in a deal worth around €20 million in the January transfer window earlier this year.
Sensi has regained his form and shown that he is the right player for Conte’s system, the report continues, whilst Eriksen has struggled to adapt to the speed and aggression required by the former Italy and Chelsea coach’s style.
The quality of Eriksen is not in question in the Nerazzurri camp, the report continues, which is why Conte still expects a spark from the 28-year-old and a fight for his starting spot again.
Sensi impressed at the start of last season before suffering a serious injury and so will be hoping to progress past those heights this season.
