Cagliari CEO Mario Passetti discussed the talks with Inter about Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan in an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN before the clash with Atalanta.

“We will try to meet the coach’s needs, the same as those of the club. We will do our best to ensure the economic balance of the club, which is our basic principle.

“Nainggolan? We’ll see, one day is left in the market, if it is done, it will be done by tomorrow.”

The Rossoblu are currently in talks to sign the 32-year-old Belgian midfielder, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2022.

The player had a successful spell on loan last campaign with the Sardinian club, where he made 29 appearances across all competitions, for a total of 2279 minutes. In that time, he scored six goals and provided seven assists.

The player is not part of coach Antonio Conte’s project at the club, despite no aversion to working with the former Roma midfielder, and so the Milanese club have been looking for a permanent home for him.

Inter want around €10 million for Nainggolan, but Cagliari’s current offer is only worth around €8 million, and includes a Primavera player. The player appeared in the Nerazzurri’s season opener against Fiorentina.
