Inter full back Kwadwo Asamoah is set to join Sampdoria soon, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

The report details how the 31-year-old Ghanaian is set to terminate his contract with the Milanese club a season early, in order to join the Genoa based club on a free transfer.

Talks are currently ongoing to finalise the details, which have not been reported yet. The deal will be completed before tomorrow evening, the closure of the transfer market.

Asamoah made 11 appearances across all competitions last season for the Milanese club, for a total of 899 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist, but struggled with repeated knee injuries which kept him out of the squad for the majority of the season.

Coach Antonio Conte has decided not to include the player is his squad anymore, with Croatian forward Ivan Perisic and English veteran Ashley Young both playing in the left wing back role now.
