Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi discussed the importance of today’s clash against Lazio when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference yesterday. His words were noted by Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

“We know that all of us have undergone a great journey, now we are at the beginning and there are these two immediate direct clashes. Wednesday night we played quite well, with mistakes that we cannot afford.

“A good game was not enough, against Inter we will have to do better and keep our concentration high.”

He touched on how the Nerazzurri are a physical team who are not afraid to work hard and fight for every ball.

“Lazio will have to try to have a perfect match. Inter are a very physical team, tough to face, with an excellent coach and many players they can rotate. We will need more concentration than on Wednesday.”

The Biancocelesti won their first game of the season against Cagliari 2-0, but stumbled against a strong Atalanta side on Wednesday earlier this week, losing a painful 4-1.

The Roman club will be looking for vengeance this afternoon, with coach Antonio Conte’s Inter standing in the way.

The Nerazzurri have started the season strongly under the 51-year-old Italian coach, winning their first game against Fiorentina 4-3, before beating Benevento 5-2 in the mid-week game.

Inter lost this fixture last season and Conte has been working hard to prepare the squad, and the new signings, ahead of their first true challenge of the season.
