Inter started slowly but surely and took control of the match for long periods in the first half. The midfield was working the defence was good.

Lautaro finished a half chance and it was looking like one way traffic at half time. Lazio came back strongly in the second half inspite of having to deal with 3 injuries in the first 45 and a major error from both the wingbacks and the goalkeeper let the door in for Milinkovic-Savic to equalize.

Conte threw on the subs but this time there was no goal as referee Marco Guida lost control of the game, sending off, first Immobile for smacking Vidal in the face and then Sensi for a slight push on Patric.

Samir Handanovic – 5.5: Had the cap on and made a good save in the first half. Not much involvement at all even with the ball at his feet. Beaten at his near post yet again.

Milan Skriniar – 6.5: Is this the game where Skriniar finally adapted to the 3 man defence? Immobile had a tough first half against him. Gave it his all and won battles.

Stefan De Vrij – 6.5: The silky touch to Skriniar and Bastoni’s steel. Makes defending seem so easy when he has a good game. Almost never gets caught out of position.

Alessandro Bastoni – 6.5: Didn’t try anything hugely risky today. Kept the ball moving and the passes ticking. As with De Vrij, the positioning solves problems before the appear.

Achraf Hakimi – 6: Was very well marked and didn’t get space in the first half, still managed to create some chances. As the game opened up he showed his ability.

Roberto Gagliardini – 5.5 : One mistake in attack but provided a lot of muscle and a couple of runs forward from midfield. Having Vidal sweeping the midfield helps Gagliardini.

Arturo Vidal – 6.5: Played the role of midfield general today. Dictated and dominated until he ran out of steam and that cost Inter. Important to get him 100% fit.

Nicolo Barella – 6 : Nico didn’t really start well and had to come deep to sparkle into life, which he did after the 20th minute. Perfect balance of quality and quantity.

Ivan Perisic – 5.5 : Worked hard defensively to shut down the left flank in a role that doesn’t come naturally to him. Struggled to attack and defend on the equalizer.

Romelu Lukaku – 6 : The only answer Serie A teams have against Romelu is to push and shove him.Took the hits and kept on going without any reward. Ran for 90 mins

Lautaro Martinez – 7: Doesn’t look like he has 100% fitness but comes alive when the ball is in the box. Made a goal out of a Perisic blocked pass. Ran out of energy soon.

Stefano Sensi – 4.5: Brought on by Conte to make the impact a tired midfield wasn’t giving anymore. The only impact was a push on Patric for which he was sent off.

Ashley Young – 5.5: Maybe should have started. The attacking runs werent there as space behind Lazio dried up. Defensively smart as he made sure of no mistakes.

Marcelo Brozovic – 5: The type of game where Brozovic infuriates. Played like an inexperienced teenager today. Made wrong decisions, imprecise passes and poor crosses.

Alexis Sanchez – 5.5: As is standard, came in and gave him all with the ball. Tried the same diagonal ball to Hakimi but this time it didn’t result in a big chance or a goal

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5.5: D’Ambrosio came on to give Skriniar a breather. Did his basics right and apart from being beaten by Correa’s pace he didn’t really have much to do.

Antonio Conte – 5.5: Almost perfect starting lineup and a brilliant first half in a game with few chances. The midfield tired in the second. Right subs, but they didn’t click.

Marco Guida – 4: Lost control of the game. Soft yellows galore, too many fouls missed on Lukaku. It felt like the Sensi sending off was to correct the balance for him.

Inter – 5.5 : Fantastic first half showing all the positive plans by Conte this season. Poor second half mainly due to fatigue showing all the chinks in the armor.
