In today’s print edition, Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have criticised referee Marco Guida for his refereeing performance in the match between Lazio and Inter yesterday afternoon.

Inter took the lead at the Stadio Olimpico on the 30th minute mark via Lautaro Martinez and Antonio Conte’s side went into the half time interval with the lead.

Shortly after the second half began Lazio pulled level thanks to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and the game would end 1-1 in the Italian capital city.

There was also no shortage of controversy in the match as Guida brandished the red card on two occasions with him sending off Napoli talisman Ciro Immobile around the 70th minute mark and then Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi in the final few minutes.

The Italian news outlet believe that Guida’s decision to send off Immobile was excessive but not as excessive as his decision to send off Sensi and that his performance lacked common sense and left a lot to be desired.
