Joao Mario is set to complete a return to former club Sporting CP according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia journalist and transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Portuguese national team player left Sporting CP for Inter back in the Summer of 2016 for Inter and he is now set to return to the Liga NOS club on loan.

Di Marzio has not specified the duration of the loan deal nor has he specified whether there are any purchase options involved.

He does however state that Torino had made an attempt to bring the 27-year-old to their club but they are to miss out on signing him.

In his four year spell with Inter, Joao Mario, who spent the duration of last season on loan at Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow, has made 69 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored four goals and tallied 13 assists.
