Ciro Immobile could be hit with a three match suspension for his sending off against Inter yesterday according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The Lazio and Italian national team striker was sent off around the midway mark of the second half at the Stadio Olimpico for hitting out at Inter midfielder Arturo Vidal.

Vidal had fouled Immobile and proceeded to push him over whilst he was on the ground and Immobile reacted by slapping Vidal in the face.

Referee Marco Guida sent Immobile off for his actions whilst he also gave Vidal a yellow card. As a result of his sending off Lazio may be forced to do without their starman for matches against Sampdoria, Bologna and Torino.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to explain that it is very much conceievable that Lazio could appeal any suspension dished out to Immobile.
