It is a two way race between Torino and Sporting CP to sign Inter outcast Joao Mario before the transfer window closes this evening according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was broadcast earlier on today.

The player would prefer a return to Sporting CP over Torino and negotiations over a return to Sporting CP are very much underway. Anything can still happen in the final hours of the transfer window with both clubs hoping to beat the other and secure a deal for the midfielder.

Inter signed Joao Mario in a circa €40 million deal from Sporting CP back in the Summer of 2016 but the player has endured a horrid spell with Inter with him very seldom performing to expectations in his four years with the club.

Joao Mario has made 69 appearances across all competitions to date for Inter, in which he has scored four goals and provided 13 assists for his teammates.
