Inter owned wing-back Dalbert has spoken on the difficulties he endured upon his move to Inter a few years ago as part of his official unveiling as a player of Rennes.

In the final days of the recently concluded Summer transfer window, the former OGC Nice player joined Rennes on a season long loan with option to buy – which is reportedly set at €12/13 million – and he was presented to the local media today.

“I already know Rennes from having played against them. I also saw some games before coming here, including the Coupe de France final. Ligue 1 is an attractive league,” he explained to the media in attendance at his official presentation.

“I appreciated the statements of the coach and the Sporting Director. I was also told a lot of positive things about the city, the club and the infrastructure.

“I feel good. I worked during my vacation in Brazil, I also had a good pre-season with Inter. I feel ready to help the club and my teammates.”

He then spoke on his experience in Italy, where he spent two seasons with Inter and spent last season out on loan at Inter’s fellow Serie A club Fiorentina, where he was able to play regularly.

“In the beginning I had some difficulties at Inter because Serie A is a very tactical league. The second year went much better, I got to know Italian football better.”

Since joining Inter in a circa €20 million deal from OGC Nice back in the Summer of 2017, Dalbert has made 26 appearances across all competitions for the club, in which he has scored one goal and tallied as many assists.
