Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan could potentially get his much wanted return to Cagliari in the January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The Sardinian club tried until the very last minute to bring Nainggolan back to the club on a permanent basis during the recently closed transfer window after his successful loan spell with them in the 2019/20 season.

Inter and Cagliari were ultimately unable to come to an agreement over the Belgian, who very strongly wanted to return to the Rossoblu for a third spell and the feeling is that things could pick up again in January given how much Nainggolan wants a return.

The 32-year-old, who joined Inter in the Summer of 2018 in a players plus cash deal from fellow Serie A side Roma, has made just one appearance this season for Inter. Since joining the club he has scored seven goals and tallied three assists in 37 appearances.
