Joao Mario has completed a return to former employers Sporting CP, the Portuguese giants have announced moments ago via their official club website.

The Inter central midfielder has joined the Jose Alvalade club on a season long loan which does not contain any form of purchase option or obligation to buy. A number of reports have also stated that Inter are making a contribution to his wages but Sporting CP have neither confirmed or denied this in their signing announcement.

The 27-year-old joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 from the Verde e Brancos but has largely struggled to perform to expectations.

He spent the entirety of last season out on loan at Russian Premier League club Lokomotiv Moscow and not only has he not played any games for Inter this term but he has also not trained once with the team.

In his four year spell with Inter, Joao Mario has made 69 appearances, scoring four goals and tallying 13 assists.
