Inter central defender Milan Skriniar has tested positive for COVID-19 according to a report from the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Skriniar was tested for COVID-19 at the Slovakian national team’s camp ahead of their upcoming matches and returned a positive test result. The report does not specify whether Skriniar is showing any symptoms or if he is asymptomatic.

The 25-year-old has now become the second Inter player in as many days to have returned a positive test result after fellow central defender Alessandro Bastoni returned a positive test result whilst with the Italian under 21 national team player. Bastoni is asymptomatic.

The report from the Milan based news outlet goes on to state that the two positive test results represent a problem for Inter manager Antonio Conte who has deal with the temporary unavailability of the duo ahead of upcoming Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan in 10 days time.
