Inter will look to move central midfielder Matias Vecino on in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report from Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.com.

The Uruguayan national team player is currently sidelined following surgery to his knee back in July and upon his return he is expected to sit on the bench until Inter are able to get rid of him.

Vecino, who has not been included on Inter’s squad list for the Champions League group stages, was subject to interest from Napoli in the recently closed transfer window, despite him being injured.

Inter wanted €18 million for the former Fiorentina player but Napoli were only prepared to offer a sum of €9 million in exchange for him.

The clubs were ultimately unable to agree terms and this led to Napoli moving on from him and going on to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea.

The report from CalcioMercato.com explains that Vecino, who joined Inter for €25 million back in the Summer of 2017 will be valued at €15 million against the club’s books come the January transfer window.
