Ahead of Uruguay’s World Cup qualifier against Chile tomorrow night, Atletico Madrid and Uruguay midfielder Lucas Torreira has sang the praises of two of Chile’s key men, Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal, both of whom play for Inter.

“Alexis is a great player, he started very well at Arsenal. In the short time he was in England he proved to be a great player and a super professional.

“For Chilean football and for the national team he is very important, he adds quality to the team,” Torreira explained in an interview with CDF, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it.

As for Vidal, the former Sampdoria player who recently joined Atletico Madrid on loan, added: “Vidal played at Juve and at Barça. He is a world class player and very aggressive, I really like his style.

“He always goes into duels with the aim of winning back the ball and with great determination. He does not look anyone in the face and always leaves everything on the field.”

This season Sanchez has made three appearances across all competitions to date for Inter, in which he has provided two assists for his teammates. Vidal has also made three appearances although unlike Sanchez the Summer transfer window recruit has failed to make any goal contributions.

Uruguay versus Chile is scheduled to kick off at 00:45 CET tomorrow night at the 60,235 capacity Estadio Centenario in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo. This will be each side’s first World Cup qualifier for the 2022 World Cup that is to be held in Qatar.
