Italian football journalist Giancarlo Padovan has shared his belief that Inter new boy Matteo Darmian managed to regenerate himself at now former employers Parma.

Darmian completed his long awaited move to Inter on transfer deadline day on Monday with him arriving at Inter in a loan with obligation to buy deal. Inter will reportedly pay Parma a sum of €2.5 million to sign Darmian outright and the player has also reportedly signed a four year contract worth around €2 million a year to him.

“He won a Europa League playing the final and semi final under Mourinho, he wanted to return to Italy, he wanted to play more.

“At Parma he was regenerated, he had a good season and now he is playing his cards at Inter,” Padovan explained whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on this evening.

The 36 time Italian national team representative has yet to represent his new employers but could make his debut for the Nerazzurri in the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan on Saturday October 17.

Prior to his move to Inter, the former Manchester United player made three appearances across all competitions for Parma but failed to make any goal contributions.
