Former Inter and Argentine national team striker Hernan Crespo has shared his belief that current Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has what it takes to be a striker at Inter for a long time.

Lautaro has started the 2020/21 Serie A season in fine fashion with him having scored three goals in as many games to date.

Last season the highly rated 23-year-old had his first season as an undisputed starter and grabbed the opportunity with both hands as he went on to score a career high for goals scored in a single season as he tallied 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.

“Lautaro is playing in a top European team and this must make him proud. I think he has a mentality and a personality that will allow him to be an Inter striker for many years,” Crespo said as part of the Gazzetta dello Sport ‘Festival dello Sport’ conference ‘Argentino Live’, as quoted by Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

“Given the big changes he has went through in his career, from moving from Racing Club to Inter and taking a big leap in life, after his first year as a starter, for his sake and for Inter’s I recommend some stability.”

Crespo has a total of three spells with Inter, two permanent spells and one loan spell, during his 19 year playing career which lasted between 1993 and 2012. He made 116 appearances across all competitions for Inter, in which he scored 45 goals and provided eight assists for his teammates.
