Former Juventus midfielder Angelo Di Livio discussed this season’s title race between the Bianconeri and Inter in an interview in today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“For what Juve represents, considering the three competitions they have to face, champions are never enough. The squad is deep, Pirlo has many choices of the highest level and in my opinion in the coming months there will be room for everyone.

He spoke about Bianconeri forward Federico Bernardeschi, who has struggled to grow in Turin after joining from Fiorentina in 2017.

“I also hope for Bernardeschi, who on paper could be at risk more than the others. I don’t even want to think that a guy like that has forgotten to play football. Bernardeschi has talent, he can make a difference and must be recovered quickly, for the good of Juventus and also for the national team.”

He pointed out that Juventus are still the favourites for the league title, although two other teams could look to challenge them this season.

“Juve remains the favorites, but this year the competition is tough. There are two teams above all, Atalanta who are always impressive and Inter who have built a complete team. And of course, I didn’t forget Napoli, a squad which I expect a lot from.”

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta are currently at the top of the table with AC Milan, after winning their opening three games of the season.

Inter are only a step behind in 4th, due to their 1-1 draw against Lazio last weekend. Rivals Juventus have played only twice so far this season and so could tie Inter on points with a win against Crotone next weekend.

Inter’s next game is against the Rossoneri next weekend in the Milanese derby.
