Inter owned left back Dalbert’s agent Emerson Figueredo discussed his move to Rennes, why he left Inter and the other interest in him in an interview with Italian media outlet FcInterNews.

First, he spoke about the 27-year-old’s return to France.

“The player is stronger than when he left Nice. Italian football is an important school, especially in the defensive aspect. And certainly, Dalbert has improved a lot from this point of view.”

The agent commented on the other interest Dalbert received apart from Rennes, including other French clubs.

“There was a lot of interest, from Italy to abroad. From the Premier League to top clubs of prestigious leagues. However, some teams could not afford to hire the athlete. Others, like Saint-Etienne, had to first streamline their roster.”

Figueredo then touched on why the move to Rennes is perfect for Dalbert, who spent last season on loan with Fiorentina.

“Rennes satisfies everyone, excellent project, prospective squad. We are talking about a club that will play in the Champions League, with solid ownership, which today pays the all of the player’s salary and has invested on the athlete’s loan.

“Eventually, at the end of the season, they will be able to redeem the Inter player.”

Dalbert’s agent spoke about why a stay with Inter was not possible.

“Look, we knew that Conte was not betting on Dalbert. So now we are thinking about Rennes. He will see that the guy will play a season of the highest level, he will play in a league he already knows and will have consistent performances.”

He also commented on the fact that the Brazilian left back is a player who needs consistent playing time.

“At Inter with Spalletti, and I’m sure I don’t want to make any controversy, surely yes, but as soon as I arrived at Montella’s Fiorentina, I lined him up consecutively as a starter right from the beginning.

“This benefited the player and also the team, since Dalbert provided several assists to his teammates.”

Finally, Dalbert’s agent suggested that the player is not focused on proving his critics wrong and simply wants to do well at his new home.

“Dalbert only thinks about doing good for Rennes. This is football, there will always be critics of this or that player. The important thing is to work hard and seriously, things that the guy has never missed. Nor will they ever fail.”

Dalbert made 34 appearances across all competitions last season for Fiorentina, for a total of 2751 minutes. In that time, he provided nine assists and impressed in Florence.
