Inter have isolated five of their squad to protect them from catching COVID-19, according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset earlier today.

The report details how five players have recently tested positive for the contagion, with Ionut Radu recently joining the list of positive players containing Radja Nainggolan, Roberto Gagliardini, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.

As such, the Nerazzurri have placed the other five players who weren’t called up by their national teams in solitary confinement at their training ground in Appiano Gentile. These players were Samir Handanovic, Ashley Young, Andrea Ranocchia, Daniele Padelli and Matteo Darmian.

Inter’s next game is against AC Milan in the derby next weekend, and currently they are not able to ask for a postponement, with ten positive cases required. The Milanese club are hoping that those called up by their national teams will all return healthy, testing negative.

Inter haven’t lost to AC Milan in a derby since 2016.
