Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella will start for Italy against Poland tomorrow, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Italian will line up alongside Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti and Chelsea’s Jorginho in Italy’s midfield, in tomorrow’s Nations League clash against Poland.

The tactic will be to allow the Chelsea man to direct the play from a deep position, with the Inter midfielder driving forward to unleash the Azzurri’s attack.

The former Cagliari midfielder has made 14 appearances across all competitions for the Italian national team, for a total of 1166 minutes. In that time, he has scored four goals and provided two assists. The player is expected to be an important part of Roberto Mancini’s Azzurri squad in next summer’s European Championships.

Barella shined in his debut season with the Nerazzurri last season under coach Antonio Conte and has already started this season strongly.
