Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti discussed next weekend’s derby between Inter and AC Milan in an interview on Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today, as reported by FcInterNews.

“It is sad to read that between Inter and Milan there are already six positive cases, but that the derby is not at risk, as if that were the most important thing. In addition, it is not even true. Right now, there is no rule.”

He highlighted how the postponement of the game between Juventus and Napoli shows that rules can be altered in certain situations.

“Those in power have been called inappropriate, overcome by the new severity of the epidemic.

“In fact, Juve-Napoli will be played, that is to say that Napoli will not be punished for not respecting the protocols.”

The Italian journalist touched on how nothing could be done should either squad decide not to play next weekend.

“If Inter or Milan decided not to play, nobody could object at this moment. Napoli made its choice with two positive players, today’s Inter has twice as many. Waiting for new rules, we are in full autocracy.”

Finally, Sconcerti spoke about how there are real rules in place that must be respected in the footballing world.

“Starting from a small certainty, playing outdoors is not dangerous, contagions come from contact indoors, so locker rooms, where you stay for a long time, travel, private life. The game itself is the minimum.”

The derby between the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri will take place next weekend, with the Nerazzurri placing five players who were not called up by their national teams in a small isolation at the training ground in Appiano Gentile, in order to ensure their health.

Five players have already tested positive for the contagion, with Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni, Ionut Radu, Roberto Gagliardini and Radja Nainggolan all catching the virus.
