Inter defender Stefan de Vrij is set to start for the Netherlands against Bosnia tonight in the Nations League, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

The report details how the 28-year-old defender, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, will have his second consecutive start for the national team under new coach Frank De Boer.

He will line up alongside Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk against Bosnia this evening, attempting to stop Roma striker Edin Dzeko from finding the back of the net.

De Vrij has struggled to break into the Netherlands team in recent years, with previous coach Ronald Koeman clearly not a fan of the Inter man.

The Dutchman’s appearance against Mexico earlier this week was his first appearance for the Dutch national team since a friendly against Belgium two years ago. His last competitive appearance was in a World Cup qualifier against Bulgaria in September of 2017.
