Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella will start for Italy against Poland in their Nations League clash tonight, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report details how the 23-year-old Italian, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2024, will make his 15th appearance for the Azzurri under coach Roberto Mancini this evening in Poland.

The former Manchester City and Inter coach has had limited options with his squad, with Alessio Romagnoli, Mattia Caldara, Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Nicolo Zaniolo, Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi all unavailable for different reasons.

Barella will be starting in Italy’s midfield alongside Chelsea’s Jorginho and Paris Saint-Germain’s Marco Verratti, the report continues, with Inter’s Danilo D’Ambrosio and Stefano Sensi starting on the bench.

The former Cagliari midfielder has scored four goals and provided two assists in his first 14 appearances for the national team and will likely be important in next summer’s European Championships.
