Former AC Milan coach Arrigo Sacchi discussed next weekend’s Milanese derby between the Rossoneri and Inter in an interview with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb yesterday.

“I expect a good game. Both are doing well, I would like to see a fun match, without too many tactics.”

The 74-year-old Italian then spoke about Inter coach Antonio Conte.

“He is a great coach, he must believe in himself more. We are talking about a perfectionist who does not contemplate failure because he does not want to disappoint those who trust him.”

Conte will be forced to re-design his squad ahead of next weekend’s derby, with multiple players testing positive for COVID-19. The 51-year-old Italian will be without Radja Nainggolan, Ionut Radu, Milan Skriniar, Alessandro Bastoni and Roberto Gagliardini.

The Milanese club have now placed five players who were not called up by their national teams into a small isolation in the club’s training ground in Appiano Gentile.

Samir Handanovic, Matteo Darmian, Daniele Padelli, Ashley Young and Andrea Ranocchia are now waiting for their teammates to join them at the Suning training centre.

The Rossoneri have started the season incredibly strongly, winning their first three games. Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic tested positive for COVID-19 but has now recovered and will be available for the game.
