Inter and AC Milan could compete with one another for the signing of Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare in the upcoming January transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter had shown an interest in signing Soumare in the recently concluded Summer transfer window, as did AC Milan but Lille were not open to doing a loan deal for the highly rated young Frenchman.

Should AC Milan manage to make the knockout stages of the Europa League, they could look to expand their squad by acquiring Soumare whilst Inter are expected to sell Matias Vecino in January and could replace him with Soumare.

21-year-old Soumare has been with his current employers since 2017 and is under contract with them until the end of the 2021/22 season.

This season the France under 21 national team representative has made four appearances across all competitions to date but has failed to make any goal contributions as of yet.
