Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has stated that one day he will reveal the details of why his proposed transfer to Chelsea back in the Summer of 2017 never materialised.

The Belgian national team striker was on the books of Everton and Chelsea wanted to bring him back to the club for a second spell with then Chelsea and current Inter manager Antonio Conte said to really want him as part of his team.

The move ultimately never came to fruition though and he ended up moving to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United, where he spent two years before joining Inter in a €65 million transfer deal.

“One day, when my book is finished, I will reveal all the details,” Lukaku revealed in an interview with Belgian broadcaster VTM, which was broadcast earlier on today.

“Many things happen in the football, but it is important that the next generation have full control of their own destiny. The whole picture must be corrected.”

Since joining Inter Lukaku has been nothing short of exceptional. The 27-year-old forward has made 54 appearances across all competitions to date for Inter, in which he has scored 37 goals and provided six assists for his teammates.
