Inter medical staff sent Ashley Young home on Saturday, the day prior to him returning a positive COVID-19 test result according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

The players currently at Inter’s training ground were subjected to testing on Saturday but immediately after taking the test Inter’s medical staff sent Young home due to him having a sore throat and not wanting to take any chances.

This choice to send Young home turned out to be the right one as he returned a positive test result yesterday and is the sixth Inter player currently with COVID-19.

Tuttosport go on to add that Milan Skriniar, who is one of the other COVID-19 positive players, is at risk of missing the birth of his first child due to him having to quarantine in Slovakia. The remaining four COVID-19 positive players are all quaranting in Italy like Young.

All of the players in Italy are having meals sent to their homes by Inter’s chef and have been given training plans to follow when at home.

Given the number of positive players, Inter manager Antonio Conte will need to make changes to his team and as per this report Inter’s team could look like this against AC Milan.

Inter probable line-up (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Danilo D’Ambrosio, Stefan de Vrij, Aleksandar Kolarov; Achraf Hakimi, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic (or Christian Eriksen ), Arturo Vidal, Ivan Perisic (or Matteo Darmian); Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
