Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio explored the possibility of a Christian Eriksen and Jerome Boateng swap deal with Inter in the Summer transfer window according to a report from the online edition of German news outlet BILD.

As per this report, both Eriksen and Boateng earn the same amount as one another therefore neither club would have been paying any more salary than they would have already been paying.

The report also explains that there would have been no fee involved in what would have been a loan swap deal involving the Danish attacking midfielder and German central defender. Both clubs would also have had an option to buy the player they received on a permanent basis.

One of the reasons why the deal never occurred was Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic strongly wanted – and eventually got – Marc Roca. Another reason was Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick did not want to lose Boateng and as a result there were no direct negotiations between the clubs.
