Inter and Bayern Munich held talks over Christian Eriksen during the recently concluded Summer transfer window according to a report from Sky Sport Deutschland, which was broadcast late last night.

Bayern Munich were understood to be very interested in signing Eriksen and Inter sought Bayern Munich central defender Jerome Boateng in a swap deal for the Danish national team player but the reigning Champions League holders had no interest in dealing away Boateng.

Conte highly rates Boateng but seeing as he has not long returned from injury, Bayern Munich wanted to count on him again.

In the end Eriksen stayed with Inter and the report from the broadcaster goes on to state that he is candidate to play a leading role for the Nerazzurri in this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan.

This season Eriksen has made two appearances across all competitions to date but in his limited time on the park he has failed to make any goal contributions.
