It will be simpler for AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli to get an idea of the team he will field against Inter before Inter manager Antonio Conte does for this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Il Giornale.

As things stand, Pioli’s AC Milan have just two players positive for COVID-19 in Leo Duarte and Matteo Gabbia whilst Conte’s Inter have six players in Alessandro Bastoni, Roberto Gagliardini, Radja Nainggolan, Ashley Young, Milan Skriniar and Ionut Andrei Radu.

AC Milan also have 14 players away on international duty compared to the 16 that Inter have away. AC Milan’s international team representatives are also not facing trips from one side of the world to the other like Inter’s South American players in Lautaro Martinez, Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal are.

The report from Il Giornale goes on to add that Pioli will have a full squad available to him from Thursday.
