Former Inter and AC Milan manager Alberto Zaccheroni has shared his thoughts and feelings on the projects that both of his former employers are carrying out at the moment.

Zaccheroni, who last managed the United Arab Emirates national team between 2017 and 2019, managed AC Milan between 1998 and 2001 and managed Inter between October 2003 and June 2004.

“Inter’s project is finalised as Conte wants, he wants to win immediately, so he convinces me more but for the culture that I had in my past as a coach, I see myself more in the AC Milan project, a construction project,” Zaccheroni explained whilst present in the studios of Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, late last night.

“AC Milan starts at a disadvantage due to the well-known past events and therefore must focus on young players, the economic availability they have at this moment is not that of Inter.

“In perspective, I like AC Milan’s project very much, Inter’s project is immediate. Inter are in a hurry, they have hired a coach who we all know went there to win immediately and you have to give him ready players.”

In his spell with AC Milan, Zaccheroni won the Serie A title in his first year in charge of them and he also won the Panchina d’Oro and Serie A coach of the year accolades when at the Rossoneri.

At Inter he managed the Nerazzurri club on 43 occasions, of which Inter won 18, drew 13 and lost 12 of. Under Zaccheroni, Inter finished in fourth place.

Inter and AC Milan are due to face off against one another for the first time this season this coming Saturday with kick off at San Siro scheduled for 18:00 local time.
